Massage
At
the Center for Structural Wellness, we offer deep, lasting and cumulative
bodywork techniques that transform you on all physiological levels.
This includes the bone structure that supports you, the connective
tissue that binds you, the muscles that move you and the energy
that animates you. Given that philosophy, our licensed massage therapist,
Karden Rabin, goes far beyond what you typically expect from massage.
Extensively trained in multiple modalities of bodywork, Karden specializes
in integrating your awareness, nervous system and musculature to
bring you profound and lasting pain relief.
Read below to find out more about the types of bodywork that Karden is
trained in, how they can help you, and what session will suit you best.
Neuromuscular Recalibration (NMR) – Over time, as a result
of habitual activities and trauma, muscles get trapped in
pathogenic contractions that cause pain and restrict range
of motion. One of the most powerful and little known bodywork
techniques, NMR, returns balance to the relationship between
the nervous system and muscles. The technique accomplishes this in two
phases. First, the therapist passively places the client’s body in specific
positions that release contracted muscles. Second, the therapist takes the
client through a series of active stretches that restore the natural range
of motion of the targeted muscles. The combination of muscular release and
optimal stretching brings an awareness of spaciousness and ease of movement
that revolutionizes a client’s relationship with their body.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) – The brain and the spinal cord are bathed in a
protective and nourishing substance known as Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF). This
fluid follows a rhythmic tidal cycle, flowing from the brain down to your
sacrum within the meningial membranes that insulate your central nervous
system. The healthy flow of this system is essential to the overall
well-being of the human body. Trauma, such as whiplash injuries,
concussions, back injuries as well as common things as simple as bad posture
can impair the proper flow of the CSF. The dis-eases of such restrictions
can be manifold, including irresolvable pain, headaches, insomnia, lack of
vitality and many others. Craniosacral Therapy is an extremely passive yet
profoundly effective method for freeing restrictions in the craniosacral
system of the cranium and torso. The restoration of the healthy craniosacral
rhythm can often solve previously intractable problems. This therapy is
performed by the therapist lightly placing their hands on specific parts of
the head and torso to facilitate release.

Facial Rejuvenation – Facial Rejuvenation massage is an ancient Chinese
medicinal therapy aimed at increasing the health, vitality and aesthetic
appearance of the face. It is perfect for those looking to maintain the
health of their appearance without degenerative effects of botulinum toxin
type A (Botox) and surgery. The core of the treatment is a comprehensive
face, head and neck acupressure massage with a specific focus on meridians
and pressure points that rejuvenate the face. This treatment is different
from traditional facial treatments in that it goes well beyond skin deep.
The treatment tones, cleanses and nourishes the underlying musculature of
the face in a way that no other treatment can match. In addition, the
massage is coupled with the application of a Chinese herb infused creams and
a facial mask. Results can be noticed immediate but a series of 3 to 7
treatments is recommended. This treatment is exclusively offered at the
Center for Structural Wellness as part of a series that also combines
Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation and face and cranial Structural Integration
that the goal is to make your face as healthy as possible.
